About Centenary College

Centenary College is a private university in Hackettstown, which is a town in the US state of New Jersey, in Warren County, with a population of more than 10 000 inhabitants, as estimated during the 2000 census.

The college was established in 1867 and was founded by the Newark Conference of the United Methodist Church. It has evolved from a coeducational preparatory school, turning into a girls' preparatory school in 1910, a Junior college for women in 1940, a 4-year women's college in 1976, a coeducational baccalaureate-degree-granting institution in 1988 and, finally, a master-degree-granting institution in 1995.

Centenary currently offers its students `a range of undergraduate, graduate and professional programs as well as non-degree courses for professional and personal development.`

Athletics

Centenary's athletic teams are known as the Cyclones and they compete in NCAA Division III, ECAC, CSAC and MIWA, with 13 intercollegiate teams. Their distinctive colors are Centenary Blue and Grey.
